Ridgewood High School Ridgewood Review
About
The Ridgewood Review is back! In 2025-2026, we re-branded to the acclaim of students and staff alike.
The Ridgewood Review is an amazing community of writers, artists, and photographers. Through the club these individuals are able to put their creativity to work, with their contributions in the school newspaper. The club has different positions available such as Editor-in-Chief, Sports Manager, News and Features Manager, Artistic Manager, and Social Media Manager. These are the individuals who are in charge of the different departments that make up the newspaper. Even if writing isn’t your strong suit, editing and layout are very important to the club and are always in need of help. The Senior Spotlight is our end of the year project including the seniors and nominating senior notables. The club advisor, Ms. Romano, is located in room 230 and puts in the extra work to get the issues printed and ready for the school to read. Staff and students may contact Ms. Romano if they would like anything in the school newspaper.
Benefits
Newspaper offers many benefits to individuals, some of which are expected and some that aren’t. Throughout the club you are learning how to meet deadlines, giving you a much better grip of responsibility which in the long run will help for life in general. Students who are hoping to go a more journalistic or artistic route in their future will be building a strong portfolio showing all their work. Since our club is built on a strong sense of community, communication is emphasized. The communication through the Ridgewood Review is beneficial to all, helping students break out of their shell and expanding horizons.
Events
Some events of Ridgewood Review are our Homecoming Carnival, and banner making for this special day. In 2025, we won 3rd Place! This past year for our game we did a newspaper toss into a box. One of the bigger events that we experience is the activity banquet, where all the clubs meet and we talk about our special accomplishments that we had made this year.
Meetings
Meetings are held Monday after school 3:05-4:00 in room 230. Email Ms. Romano for more information. eromano@ridgenet.org
