Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

My advice for younger athletes would be to enjoy every game and practice that you have. High school flies by and you need to enjoy every second of it. Try your best and make the most of everything! Don’t be too hard on yourself. Every mistake you make, leads to growth and self-improvement.

Favorite band/artist/group?

My favorite band is the Bee Gees from the 70’s. I love older music. My dad was a DJ in the 80’s, so he made sure his kids listened to a large variety of music, especially rock and disco. I love the Bee Gees because their songs are so fun and always put me in a good mood.

Work hard, try your best, and most importantly, have fun.  A sport won’t be enjoyable if you don’t have any fun with it.  As long as you do your best and 100% every time, the coaches and your teammates will be proud of you.

What activity makes you most happy and why?

I played tennis & soccer throughout high school and I couldn’t have been happier that I joined these teams.  Both tennis & soccer make me happy because I got to meet many great coaches and create unbreakable bonds with my teammates, all the while, playing the sports I love.

Who is your biggest influence and why?

My biggest influence are all the professional athletes that inspire young competitors to be the greatest players they can strive to be.

If you had to choose to be an animal, which animal would you be and why?

I would be a penguin because I can swim around and have fun in the cold with all my cute, little, penguin family/friends.

It is okay to make mistakes. You just have to take notes from them and never let them get to you.

What do you want to be when you “grow up”?

I want to be a comic artist. It’s always been a dream of mine since I was in elementary school.

If you had to choose to be an animal, which animal would you be and why?

If I had to choose to be an animal, it would be an eagle. An opportunity to fly just seems really nice and awesome!

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

Always give your best, even during practice. Have fun with it! But make sure to maintain good time management between school and the sport(s) you play. Also you're not made to be perfect, so you may have a few "bad" days, but you need to learn to grow from them.

What do you want to be when you "grow up"?

When I graduate, I want to go to college to continue my education. I honestly don't know where I want to go yet, but I know I want to stay in-state. I want to major in Biology, to become a Veterinarian in the future.

Do you have any advice for younger athletes?

My advice for younger athletes is to find your motivation and let it drive you. All it takes is hard work and determination. Without it, you won't improve.

If you ever want to quit, give it a week and you probably won’t want to quit by then.

If I won a lottery of 10 million dollars:

I would purchase a house. Then, I’d purchase 500 acres of fertile Midwest land and rent it to farmers. Land goes for $200 per acre per year. That’s $100,000 per year. I’d never work again. Then, I’d probably have a super nice dinner with all my friends.

Hobbies outside of my sport:

I like to learn. I also enjoy discussing politics.

Never take any of your practices or games/meets for granted. Playing sports is a privilege, not a right. Play every game like it’s your last.

Do you plan to compete in athletics at university/college level?

When I attend my future University, I don’t plan on competing in any sports. This isn’t because I am not competent, but because it doesn’t fit in my schedule.  This isn’t going to stop me from joining club or intramural sports, which are a great alternative to University sports.

Do what you want. Never feel forced into anything and do what you love. Always have fun and take in every moment.

What activity makes you most happy?

An activity that makes me most happy is wrestling because I get to learn new moves, play splatterball and I feel like wrestling suits me most.
