Ridgewood High School’s Art Club students spread some holiday cheer while participating in the 2025 Rosemont Nutcracker Wonderland! The Village of Rosemont’s 3rd annual display of hand-painted nutcrackers featured a variety of six-foot tall nutcrackers designed and painted by 17 local high school art programs.
Each school began their decorating project in September after receiving a nutcracker from the Village of Rosemont and brainstorming designs. The schools each had free reign to come up with design ideas that were later approved by the village.
This public art project was sponsored by Rosemont and Live Art International. Their goal was to support the local art community and support Operation North Pole, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting seriously and terminally ill children and their families during the holiday season. Visitors had the opportunity to view the life-sized nutcrackers while on display at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center December 14 through January 4, 2025.
Ridgewood’s nutcracker decorating team included Anastasia Atrakhimovich, Ana Coronel, Malgorzata Cukierska, Khrystyna Kovalska, Mariia Mazur, Michal Misterka, Arkin Natividad, Aydin Syed and art teacher, Sarah Machaj.
