Congratulations to Mike Cwieczkowski, Marko Jonic and Kevin Luna of the Ridgewood Boys Track & Field Team! On Wednesday, May 20th, Ridgewood HS hosted the IHSA Sectional for Boys Track & Field and had three boys qualify for the IHSA State Finals this weekend at Eastern Illinois University. Mike Cwieczkowski placed 1st in the High Jump event, jumping 1.77 meters, making him a Sectional Champion. Marko Jonic also placed 1st, but in the Triple Jump event; with a distance of 13.18 meters, solidifying his Sectional Champion title. Lastly, Kevin Luna took 2nd in the Long Jump event, scoring at 6.36 meters, which was the longest jump, but earned 2nd place due to the tie-breaker rule; narrowly missing out on Sectional Champion status. Way to go boys and good luck at the IHSA State Finals! Go Rebels!
