Algebra 2 In Business is an alternative approach to learning both Algebra and Business concepts. The program is regionally recognized by the Des Plaines Valley Region School-College Alliance Best Practices. In the class students design, create and sell Ridgewood-centered apparel. They also create their own small business and pitch it to local community owners. Students engage with several personal finance projects throughout the school year. This includes designing their own mutual fund, writing investment essays, and competing in the nation-wide stock market game. All students enter into the InvestWrite essay competition and this past year one of these A2IB students placed first in the State of Illinois, among the High School Division.
